Opening: Wednesday, 4 March 2026, at 3 pm, with musical accompaniment and performances by students
As part of the SCHULKUNST program of the State of Baden-Württemberg, the PEAC Museum presents more than 50 artworks by students under the title TEXTILE. These works enter into a dialogue with abstract and conceptual pieces by contemporary artists from the Paul Ege Art Collection who use textiles as an artistic medium, including Reto Boller, Michal Budny, Andrea Ostermeyer, and Franziska Reinbothe.
Invited to explore textile materials, the students demonstrate a wide range of artistic possibilities using textiles. They investigate the haptic qualities of thread, braiding, and fabric, draw on traditional techniques such as embroidery, weaving, knotting, and sewing, and further develop these practices. Interdisciplinary connections to fashion and design, as well as graphic and film works, broaden the perspective on textile materials. The soft material becomes both a source of inspiration and a field for experimentation.
As part of the exhibition, the open workshop offers space to get creative during the museum’s opening hours. Visitors are invited to follow their own impulses, try out new forms of expression, and experiment with techniques and textile materials.
The themes and works of the exhibition provide a wealth of points of reference for art education. For school classes, we offer guided tours and workshops designed for students of all ages and school types, from primary level to upper secondary education.
Cost: Guided tours are free of charge. The participation fee for workshops is €3 per student.
Dates upon request.

Our programs invite visitors to explore the exhibition and become creative themselves. All events and dates can be found in the calendar.
The SCHULKUNST program of the State of Baden-Württemberg has been a central funding initiative for arts and cultural education in schools since 1985. Its aim is to strengthen the creative work of children and young people while fostering connections with the public.
From 2025 to 2027, students of all school types are invited to engage artistically with textile materials. Their contributions will be presented in numerous SCHULKUNST exhibitions throughout Baden-Württemberg. As a cooperation partner, the PEAC Museum is presenting artworks by students from Freiburg as well as from the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen for the third time.
