We are currently experiencing profound changes and challenges – globally, nationally, and in our personal and professional lives. Art therapy is particularly important in times of crisis as an anchor and a space for inner stabilization. A common language is not always available, and people in a wide variety of stressful situations do not always find words to describe their experiences. All these people have a need to be understood. This can be made possible in a protected therapeutic setting – with or without words. The external space available can become a playground, a safe space, a resonance chamber, or a space of possibility, helping to create distance, find new things, and open up the chance to try new ways of acting. The extent to which museums can be included as networking, preserving, participatory, and cultural spaces will also be a topic of the conference. Within the framework of the conference, we want to use the museum space as a forum to create networks and expand venues for art therapy.
The conference is being held in cooperation with the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg (KH), Sigmund Freud Private University Berlin (SFU), the German Society for Artistic Therapy Forms (DGKT), and the German Section of the International Society for Art, Design, and Therapy (IGKGT).
The event will be conducted in German.
